Jaclyn Smith
Ledyard — Jaclyn Renee Smith, 23, of Ledyard, loving and cherished daughter to Robert and Renee Smith, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 5, 2016, as the result of a car accident.
Born in New London, she graduated in the year of 2010 and had a passion for being a personal care giver. Jaclyn enjoyed photography, writing, and was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Isabel. She was a free spirited individual who always lived life to the fullest, always had a smile on her face, and always put others before herself.
In addition to her parents and daughter, she leaves two siblings, Rebekah Smith, Nicole Caisse and her husband, Brandon, and as she would always say her “son” Brandon Jr., all from Ledyard; maternal grandmother, Juanita Johnson of Quaker Hill; paternal grandparents, Davis and Julie Smith of Mystic; her life-partner and soul mate, who is also Isabel’s father, Brian Alvarez and his mother, Marilyn Pena, and brother, Aris Alvarez, both of New London; two aunts, Julie Manley of Mystic and Janet Plikus of New London; several great-aunts, uncles and cousins. Jaclyn impacted the lives of everyone she came in contact with. One of her closest friends was Chassedy Collado of New London. However, she considered everyone her best friend. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Frederick “Butch” Johnson.
Her family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. For those using GPS, please use 51 Williams Ave., Mystic, for the street address. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Her burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic.
