had two goals and two assists while Owen LaPorte had two goals and five assists for the Mariners (3-5, 2-0).
Women's lacrosse
• Mel Orrell had seven goals and two assists to pace Southern Vermont past Mitchell, 15-12, in the NECC. Lauren Nesshoever had four goals and an assist for Southern Vermont (2-5, 2-1). Ashley Murtha had eight goals, Kate McCormack scored twice and Katie McBride added a goal and an assist for the Mariners (3-3, 2-1).
• Bowdoin outscored Conn College 8-4 in the second half, rallying for a 14-12 win in the NESCAC. Hannah Donegan had five goals and Erin Moran, Lacey Hale and Tina Balzotti each scored twice for Conn (5-6, 1-5).
Men's tennis
• Coast Guard celebrated Senior Day with a 9-0 win over Wheaton in its NEWMAC opener. The Bears (7-3) won all four singles matches in straight sets with Mark Guentert, Thomas Hackett, Weston Fortna and Michael Melampy coming out on top.
Crew
• Conn College competed in the Central Massachusetts Regatta in Worcester and finished second in the men's varsity four with a time of 7:47 and placed fifth in the women's varsity eight at 7:34.26. Conn was also fourth in the women's novice eight (8:18) and won the women's third varsity eight in 7:41.
Women's track
• Conn College junior Lauren Kennedy threw the shot put a school-record 38-4.25 en route to a victory at the Amherst College Invitational. The Camels placed eighth in the nine team field with 31 points. Sophomore Aly Saperstein won the javelin (119-7) .
• Coast Guard placed second at the Amherst Invitational, scoring 110 points to finish behind WPI with 138.50 points. Gabrielle Troise and Alexia Troise were both winners, finishing first in the hammer (142-5) and discus (130-1), while Monet Masters won the pole vault (10-11.75).
Men's track
• Sophomore Connor Trapp took second in the 1,500 (4:00.23) at the Amherst College Invitational today, helping Conn College place ninth with 24 points. In the 4x800 meter relay, Trapp, Price Day, Jordan Comeau and Ben Bosworth took third (8:04.86) while Bosworth was fourth in the 800 (1:55.61).
• Competing in his first college track meet, sophomore Darius Adams won the long jump (21-11.75) and triple jump (44-8) to lead Coast Guard to second place at the Amherst Invitational. The Bears scored 89 points and finished behind WPI with 144. Freshman Jacob Pawlina was first in the javelin (171-9) and fellow freshman Michael Frick won the pole vault (13-11.25) while the 4x400 relay team of Pawlina, Andrew Ireland, Benjamin Taminger and Raeford Penny also won in 3:23.54.
