NEW LONDON POLICE SEIZE ALMOST 300 GRAMS OF CRACK COCAINE, ARREST 2

New London — Police on Thursday carried out two search-and-seizure warrants, netting more than $2,000 in cash, almost 300 grams of crack cocaine and two arrests, according to releases sent out Friday.

Police said they worked with members of the Statewide Narcotics Task Force – East to carry out the first warrant at 192 Connecticu­t Ave. about 12:03 p.m.

Officers located and seized about 290.8 grams of crack cocaine, about 37.8 grams of marijuana and $1,976 in cash within the residence, police said.

Luis Oliver-Garcia, 26, of 19 Jay St. was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school and operating a drug factory.

Police, again working with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force – East, carried out the second warrant at 82 W. Coit St., Apt. 1, about 3:34 p.m.

In that residence, police said they found an unspecifie­d amount of heroin and $228 in cash.

Nestor Santana, 29, of 82 West Coit St., Apt. 1, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
