Old Lyme — Alessandra Condict, nee Alessandra Wanda Kofol, passed away Sept. 25, 2016, in New London at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

She was the wife of Stephen H. Condict, III, who predecease­d her in 1984.

She is survived by her children, Caroline Ronchini; son, Stephen H. Condict IV; and granddaugh­ter, Federica Christophe­r; and her two great-grandchild­ren, Caden and Katya.

She was an active member of the Yugoslav partisans and met her husband shortly after the end of World War II. She married him in Gorizia, Italy, in 1946 and followed him around the world during his Army career, residing in Japan and Austria. After his last posting to Hawaii, she moved with her family to Florence, Italy and then to Rome, living there nine wonderful years before moving back to the U.S.

She lived in Old Lyme but continued to travel extensivel­y in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean.

She was an active Red Cross volunteer for many years at the Naval Hospital in Groton, and was a longtime member of the Old Lyme Beach Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Florence Griswold Museum, 96 Lyme St., Old Lyme, CT 06371.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in Christ the King Church, Old Lyme.
