ONLINE FEEDBACK

- “I agree!” — Concerned Grandmother

Here is what the readers of theday. com had to say about the Jan. 10 column by David Collins, “Third casino shaping up as a tough sell.”

“Honestly we do not need another casino. What the casino' need to do is to continue investing in world-class entertainment, creating more family and lifestyle based attractions (waterpark, ropes, etc...), shopping and dining. Another casino will only take away from the customers here already.” — Richard Douglas

“We do not need another casino in CT. We need jobs for our children and theirs, these are not sustainable and offer no tangible products. We need to think sustainability, agriculture, wind and other energy sources if we want our Earth to survive. Just let this go, it will create jobs but little else. It will use large sources of water, food and energy. In a time of serious climate change, the best thing we can do is to create jobs that help support sustainability. This is a waste of time, energy and resources. Move on.” — Commonground

“I'll repeat, we don't need a third casino in Connecticut and if one needs to be built it's silly to build it in Eastern Connecticut. If you must build a third then build it in Bridgeport where there's train access. Perhaps it would cut down on all of the traffic heading up 95 N to 395.” — Scatter

“So you are all fine with hundreds of millions of dollars of tax revenues leaving the state when the casino in Massachusetts opens? That is the reality.” — Cranch

“As proven in Atlantic City, there are only so many people who can't do math and throw money away on slot machines. Every new casino just cannibalizes the existing market. If the tribes want to build more casinos, let them as long as not one penny of taxpayer money is involved.” — Fred in NJ
