Three women charged with shoplifting from 13 Clinton Outlets stores
Clinton — Clinton police, responding to the Clinton Crossing Premium Outlets on Saturday for a report of suspicious activity, said they found three women in possession of nearly $10,000 worth of stolen merchandise.
According to a news release issued Saturday evening, officers said they were approached by an employee of the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, who said three women had stolen items from the store.
In the lower level of Clinton Crossing, police located women matching a description of the three accused of shoplifting from the Polo store. Police said they determined that the three also had shoplifted from several other stores.
In a parking lot, officers located the vehicle that the women had been driving. In it, police said they found several plastic bags containing hundreds of clothing items and shoes, valued at nearly $10,000, from about 13 different Clinton Crossing shops.
Betzaida Rodriguez, 31; Delia Rodriguez-Perez, 38, and Sheyla Orengo, 26, all of Springfield, Mass., each were charged with second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny. Each was being held on a $5,000 bond.
