Stonington closes shellfishing areas due to heavy rains.

The town’s Shellfish Commission has closed some shellfishing areas due to heavy rainfall Friday.

The following conditional shellfishing areas have been closed to the harvesting of clams, oysters and mussels for at least seven days: Area A, Area B and Outer Quiambaug Cove.
