The New England Black Wolves will try to bounce back from a difficult loss at Calgary when they play the Toronto Rock in a National Lacrosse League Sunday matinee (1 p.m.) at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Black Wolves (6-7), who are still fighting to make the playoffs, allowed Calgary to go on a 9-2 run and rally for an 18-13 victory last Saturday. Toronto, meanwhile, improved to 8-5 with a 13-7 home win over Vancouver.

"Obviously, it was a disappointing result last weekend in Calgary," Black Wolves coach Glenn Clark said. "I thought we played pretty well in the first half, and then it slipped away on us in the second half.

"We get a chance to bounce back with a big divisional game against a team we're chasing. Everybody is in the right frame of mind. We sort of recalibrated ourselves and everybody is ready to go after it on Sunday."

New England beat Toronto 10-9 in overtime in their first meeting back on March 3.

Shawn Evans has 28 goals and 49 assists for the Black Wolves, leading the team in assists and points. Kevin Crowley (31 goals, 30 assists) is New England's top goal scorer. Evans, who recorded his third straight three-goal performance against Calgary, is just 16 points shy of 1,000 career points.

"We're 6-7 right now," Clark said. "We certainly want to get back to the .500 level ... Must wins, have wins, those will kind of be dictated by what's happening around us, but we certainly want to win.”
