Stonington — Gloria (Hubbert) Hanrahan, 79, of Flanders Road, Stonington, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was the wife of the late John Hanrahan. Mrs. Hanrahan was the daughter of the late Patrick and Viola (Carney) Hubbert and part of a large Irish family of 11 children.

A graduate of New London High School, she dedicated her life to helping others, particular­ly the elderly people in her new hometown of Stonington, where she also raised a closeknit family of three boys.

She was a faithful communican­t of St. Mary’s Church and will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by three sons, Patrick Hanrahan of Hebron, Michael Hanrahan of Colchester and John Hanrahan Jr. of Stonington; four sisters, Dottie Camassar of East Lyme, Diana Pearson of Groton, Mary McEnaney of Oakdale, and Carol DiMaggio of Waterford; and two brothers, Richard Hubbert and Michael Hubbert, both of Montville. Mrs. Hanrahan also leaves behind four loving grandchild­ren, Darrel, Sean, Caitlin and Jackson; two great-grandchild­ren, Preston and Haley; and more than 40 nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by two brothers, John Hubbert and Donald Hubbert, and two sisters, Viola Hubbert and Barbara Newman.

There are no scheduled visiting hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main St., Stonington, which will be followed by a reception after the Mass to celebrate Gloria’s full life. A private burial will take place at a later date.
