Academy seniors show their work
As Lady Spring sluggishly spreads her wings and graduation ceremonies begin to show up on calendars, the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts presents the annual Senior Studio Exhibition. It opens with a reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Chauncey Stillman Gallery on the school’s Old Lyme campus. Featuring the work of the college’s Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates, the show includes pieces in a variety of disciplines including drawing, painting, illustration and sculpture (see David Keuhler’s “Hanging Man,” near right, and Daniel Willig’s “Relief,” far right). In a release, campus dean Todd Jokl said, “This exhibition is the culminating effort for our undergraduates as they prepare to embrace their post-graduate careers or pursue graduate degrees. I am excited and proud of the work they have achieved — not just this year but during their entire time at Lyme Academy College.” The show runs through May 12. Hours 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mon.-Sat.; (860) 434-5232.
