Donald Hall

Montville — Donald R. Hall, 84, of Oakdale, went to his eternal resting place on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, after a short illness.

He was born to the late Elsie Shruby Hall and Robert Alfred Hall in New London.

Donald attended Chapman Tech High School where he developed his love of sports. His true passion was the UConn girls basketball. He could name all the players, past and present, and enjoyed discussing the games with anyone who would listen.

Donald is survived by his wife, Karen Hall of Oakdale; sons, Bryan J. Hall (Penny) of Ledyard, Donald J. Hall of Uncasville and Keith Pemberton of Waterford; his daughters, Valerie Hall Burgess (William) of Groton, Toni Hall Hillyer (Chris) and Sheila Morgan (Ray) of Norwich, Lisa Hall Aquino (Hector) of New London, Theresa Estes and Tina Hauser of Montville; a brother, James Hall of Montville; sisters, Elsie Maultsby and Joanne Tyree of Groton; 28 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends. He will also be greatly missed by his sisterin-law, Dela Lollis Gomes of Marina, Calif.; special childhood friend, Luther Simonds; and best buddy, Joe Spears.

He is predeceased by his brothers, Alfred, Courtland, Gerald and William Hall; and sisters, Roberta Sheilds, Norma Green and Mildred Moore.

Funeral services are private. A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
