-

Norwich — Police on Wednesday arrested a city man for the third time in 45 days after they allegedly caught him in the act of dealing drugs from his 11th Street apartment.

Odilio Gonzalez, 31, of 54 11th St., Apt. 1, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they began surveilling Gonzalez’s apartment Wednesday because narcotics detectives had received information that drugs were being sold from there.

According to police, detectives saw “activities consistent with street level narcotics sales” as they kept an eye on Apartment 1.

Police said officers then contacted the occupants of the apartment, at which point they arrested Gonzalez. Officers later seized 25 bags of heroin/ fentanyl, packaging materials, cellphones, a scale and several hundred dollars in cash, according to police.

Gonzalez is familiar to police, who on Sept. 6 and again on Sept. 12 arrested him for allegedly having and intending to sell narcotics.

Prior to yesterday, police said Gonzalez had been released from custody after posting a total of $180,000 in bonds for several open criminal cases.

Gonzalez, held this time on a $250,000 bond, was due in Norwich Superior Court Thursday.
