Groton — Frances T. (Larkin) Lowry, 80, of Groton, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Fairview in Groton.

She was born on July 23, 1937, in Bridgeport, a daughter to the late William and Ann (Price) Larkin. Mrs. Lowry married the late H. Daniel Lowry, on Oct. 14, 1961, in Bridgeport; he passed away on Dec. 18, 1999.

Frances was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Gales Ferry and had devoted her life to the care and well-being of her husband and children.

Her survivors include eight children, Daniel P. Lowry (Lisa) of Prospect, Michael T. Lowry of Groton, Linda F. Schrock (Robb) of Yorktown, Va., Kathleen R. Rowe also of Yorktown, Va., Patrick J. Lowry (Nancy) of Waterford, Donna J. Reddy (Mike) of Groton, Kevin S. Lowry of Pawcatuck, and Colleen M. Phill (Justin) of Hampton, Va.; a sister, Harriet O’Donnell of Bridgeport; 14 grandchild­ren, Zach, Abi, Andrew, Meagan, Lauren, Adam, Connor, Ryan, Madison, Kyle, Nathan, Kendall, Luke and Sean.

Mrs. Lowry had also been predecease­d by a granddaugh­ter, Jennifer Lowry; and her siblings, Marie, Agnes, Margaret and Billy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Route 12, Gales Ferry. Her burial will follow in the Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Groton. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to either the Fairview Resident’s Fund, 235 Lestertown Road, Groton or to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 48, Southingto­n, CT 06489.

East Lyme — Loretta (Berry) Walker, 86, of East Lyme, passed away on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at home.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1931, the daughter of Alfred M. Berry Sr. and Margaret (Dunion) Berry, and raised in Norwich. She married Carleton S. Walker on July 2, 1960. He predecease­d her in 1995.

Mrs. Walker graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1949 and Connecticu­t College in 1953. She was a teacher for over 20 years, most recently a Spanish teacher at Lyme-Old High School for 14 years, retiring in 1988. She was active in the East Lyme Garden Club, East Lyme Informatio­n Center, and was a member of the Niantic Bay Yacht Club. She loved reading, gardening, playing bridge and watching Notre Dame football games.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her two sons, C. Michael Walker and his wife, Laurie, of Old Lyme and Matthew Walker and his wife, Rose, of Lexington, Mass.; grandchild­ren, C. Andrew, Elizabeth and Russell Walker; brother, Ronald Berry and his wife, Mary, of Old Lyme; sister, Barbara Impelliter­i of State College, Pa.; sister-in-law, Lucille Berry of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predecease­d by her siblings, Alfred Berry Jr. and Shirley Stefaniak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Christ The King Church, McCurdy Road, Old Lyme.
