J.T. Miller scored twice, Brayden Point had a goal and two assists, and high-scoring Tampa Bay held off the New York Islanders on Thursday night. Anthony Cirelli, Mikhail Sergachev and Victor Hedman each added a goal and an assist, Tyler Johnson also scored, and Braydon Coburn and Yanni Gourde each had two assists as the Lightning improved to 12-2-1 in their last 15 games. The Lighting extended their lead atop the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division to six points over idle Boston, which is 2-0 against Tampa Bay this season.

Flyers 4, Rangers 3

Travis Konecny scored twice, Claude Giroux had three assists and Philadelph­ia beat the New York Rangers. Jakub Voracek had a goal and an assist and Oskar Lindblom also scored for the Flyers, who won for just the fourth time in the last 12 games while picking up an important two points in the playoff race with seven games left.

Late Wednesday Blues 2, Bruins 1

Jaden Schwartz scored his second goal of the game 30 seconds into overtime to lift St. Louis past Boston. Schwartz skated up the middle and fired a shot past Anton Khudobin. The Blues won for the fifth time in six games to move within a point of the final Western Conference wild-card spot. Jake Allen made 21 saves to improve to 24-21-2. Ryan Donato scored for Boston. The Bruins clinched a playoff spot despite the loss.
