USS TAUTOG CLASS JOINS THE FLEET

Gro­ton — Fifty-eight sailors of “Class 18200,” USS Tautog, grad­u­ated from Ba­sic En­listed Sub­ma­rine School on April 13

Sea­man Ap­pren­tice Ster­ling Bubolz was both class honor grad­u­ate with a 95.50 GPA, and re­cip­i­ent of the Sub­ma­rine Her­itage Award. Bubolz con­tin­ues in ap­pren­tice team train­ing.

Sea­man Ken­neth Al­bert re­ceived the Navy Core Val­ues Award.

Sea­man Ap­pren­tice Cameron Ad­kins, Sea­man Re­cruit An­drew King, Sea­man Re­cruit Doc­marten Knoe­fler, Sea­man Kieran Fox, Sea­man Ap­pren­tice Ben­jamin Leon, and Sea­man Ap­pren­tice Mi­cael LeBlanc were grad­u­ates with dis­tinc­tion.

Ba­sic En­listed Sub­ma­rine School is a six-week in­tro­duc­tion to the ba­sic the­ory, con­struc­tion and oper­a­tion of nu­clear-pow­ered sub­marines. In prepa­ra­tion for an as­sign­ment, sailors re­ceive in­struc­tion on ship­board or­ga­ni­za­tion, sub­ma­rine safety and es­cape pro­ce­dures.
