Lisbon — Vivian Vane, 69, a longtime Lisbon resident, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, with her family by her side.

Born in Norwich, on April 16, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Felix Prokop Jr.and Genevieve (Pardo) Prokop. She grew up in Norwich and was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy Class of 1967. For 43 years she was a dedicated employee of the William W. Backus Hospital where she worked in the patient accounts department until her retirement in 2015.

Vivian was a kind, caring person who enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors playing cards or reminiscin­g about the good old days. She loved traveling, especially when it involved visiting family and spending time at the beach. She was a huge Star Trek fan and loved horror movies. But what she treasured most in her life was spending time with her grandchild­ren. She adored each one of them and was always very proud of their accomplish­ments. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by three sons, David A. Vane and wife, Dr. Melanie Fatone, Christophe­r M. Vane and wife, Katie and Jonathan L. Vane and wife, Amanda; five grandchild­ren, Dylan Vane, Morgan Vane, Natalie T. Vane, Josie L. Vane, and Aaron O. Vane; and two brothers, Felix Prokop III and Alexander Prokop.

She was predecease­d by her sister, Cloressa P. Prokop.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Ave., Norwich. Burial will be at the convenienc­e of the family.
