NHL ROUNDUP

David Pastrnak had two goals and two assists, Patrice Bergeron added a goal and two assists and the Boston Bruins beat the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Tuesday night. The Bruins (5-2-2) snapped a three-game skid and beat the Senators for the second time this season. David Krejci scored his second of the season, and Tuukka Rask made 38 saves. Thomas Chabot scored the lone goal for the Senators (4-3-1), who saw their three-game winning streak end to wrap a season high five-game homestand with a 3-2-0 record as they depart for a three-game trip Thursday. Craig Anderson stopped 28 shots. Boston made it 3-1 just 21 seconds into the third on the power play. Bergeron tipped Pastrnak’s shot, and then put the game out of reach as Brad Marchand dangled his way around Dylan DeMelo and found Pastrnak alone at the side for his second of the night. Trailing 1-0, the Senators tied it late in the second as Chabot scored a power-play goal from just inside the blue line, but the Bruins quickly regained the lead. Already shorthanded, the Senators were called for too many men, giving the Bruins a two-man advantage. They scored on their first shot as Krejci beat a sprawled Anderson.

Mats Zuccarello and Mika Zibanejad each scored twice as the Rangers snapped a two-game losing streak. Kevin Hayes also scored, Neal Pionk added two assists and Alexandar Georgiev made 36 saves for New York, which collected its third win of the young season. Vincent Trocheck and Mike Hoffman each scored their third goals of the season, and Jonathan Huberdeau had two assists for the Panthers, who fell to 1-3-3 despite holding the lead in each game. Georgiev earned his first win of the season in his second appearance. The Russian netminder earned the backup job with an impressive 11-game run at the finish of the 2017-18 season. Michael Hutchinson stopped 15 shots in his fourth game for Florida. The Rangers benefited from strong special teams play, registering two power-play goals and a short-handed goal. The Panthers outshot the Rangers 14-5 in the opening period and took a 1-0 lead when Trocheck’s shot sailed past Georgiev at 18:15 of the first. Jonathan Huberdeau and Evgenii Dadonov picked up the helpers while captain Aleksander Barkov screened the goaltender. The Rangers stormed back with three unanswered goals in the second. Zibanejad scored his first of the game with a pretty wraparound while New York was short-handed due to a too many men on the ice penalty at 3:10. Adam McQuaid picked up the assist. Zuccarello benefited from a fortuitous bounce as his shot deflected off Panthers defenseman Michael Matheson’s legs and into the goal at 11:36. Neal Pionk registered the first of his two assists on the goal and extended his points streak to three games. At 16:08 of the second period, Zibanejad struck again with a wrist shot that beat Hutchinson on the short side, giving New York a 3-1 advantage. Zibanejad became the first Rangers player to record a short-handed and power-play goal in the same period since Brandon Dubinsky in April 2009. Pionk and Chris Kreider assisted on the play. Zuccarello recorded his second of the game and season at 1:27 of the third period. Zibanejad picked up his second assist and fourth point of the game.

Jeff Petry and Jonathan Drouin each had a goal and an assist as Montreal won for the fourth time in five games. Brendan Gallagher also scored for the Canadiens, who have lost once in eight games this season. Carey Price made 21 saves and tied Patrick Roy for second place in team history for most wins by a goaltender with 289. Michael Frolik and Elias Lindholm scored for the Flames, and David Rittich made 37 saves.

Christian Fischer got his first career hat trick and Darcy Kuemper stopped 35 shots as Arizona rallied to beat Columbus. Fischer scored in all three periods to help the Coyotes beat Columbus for the first time in the last seven tries dating to 2015. Derek Stepan got the primary assist on all three. Dylan Strome also scored for Arizona as backup Kuemper got his first win of the season in two starts. Pierre Luc-Dubois scored and Sergei Bobrovsky had 22 saves in what was mostly a lackluster game for the Blue Jackets, even though they had 10 more shots on goal. Columbus defenseman Seth Jones made his season debut after spraining a medial collateral ligament in his right knee on Sept. 25. He was expected to miss up to six weeks but made it back in less than a month. He logged four shots on goal.
