Waterford — Robert Francis Rowe, 77, of Waterford, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Bayview Health Care.

He was the beloved husband of Constance (Jeffery) Rowe. He was born on Aug. 3, 1941, in Norwood, Mass., the son of the late Paul and Elvi (née Granlund) Rowe.

Mr. Rowe served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years, retiring in 1979 with the rank of chief petty officer. He was also employed for 20 years as an electrical maintenanc­e supervisor at Millstone Nuclear Power Station, retiring in 2000.

He loved spending time on the water, owning multiple boats through the years. Family meant everything to him. He relished the time he spent at all family gatherings and watching his kids and grandkids at sporting events no matter where they were held. He was friendly to everyone and literally waved to everyone he saw. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox fan.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his four sons, Dean Rowe (Alicia) of Waterford, Robert Rowe Jr. of Waterford, Sean Rowe (Maria) of Quaker Hill, Patrick Rowe (Lisa) of Waterford; two brothers, Paul Rowe and Kenneth Rowe of East Walpole, Mass. He has eight grandchild­ren, Dean Rowe Jr. (Andrea) of Waterford, Michael Rowe (Samantha) of East Lyme, Danielle Rowe of Waterford, Courtney Rowe of Waterford, Rochelle Lee of Groton, Brittany Lee of Fla., Conner and Ethan Rowe of Waterford; and five great-grandchild­ren, Angelina, Arabella, and Avyanna Rowe of Waterford, Avery Rowe of East Lyme, and Christophe­r Vargas of Florida.

The Rowe family would like to express our extreme gratitude toward all the nurses and staff at Bayview Health Care for their incredible compassion and care shown to all of us during the final days of his life.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 28, 2018, at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home at 48 Grand St., Niantic. A celebratio­n of life will be conducted at 5 p.m. with military honors to follow.
