ONLINE FEEDBACK

On Oct. 23 The Day published a letter headlined, “Repudiate Trump with your Democratic vote,” which urged readers to send a message to the Republicans and President Trump by voting straight Democratic on Nov. 6. Here is some of what readers of theday.com thought of that.

“Thank you. This is exactly what we need to do. The question is not why is DJT/DC incapable of telling the truth and acting with morality, ethics, integrity, and justice in of support the Constitution, but rather, why do WE not care and remain silent.” — Lucira Jane Nebelung

“I will be voting straight Republican for the first time in my life, so will the rest of the household.” — Keith J. Robbins

“With respect, this attitude smacks of rioters burning down their own neighborhoods. Connecticut’s survival depends on fixing its finances, not on registering disgust with Trump. Go ahead and vote blue across the board if you’re happy being left behind economically.” — Lynn Young

“Lynn, I completely agree. I feel our democracy (is) most threatened when people choose a side and run blindly down that path. Independent voting means looking at each candidate individually, what they bring to the table.” — Lauren Shaw

“I see these elections as a ‘gut’ check. It comes down to do you agree with the President’s agenda or not. If you do, then you vote for his Party. If you don’t, then you vote against his Party. SIMPLE.” — Miguel DeJesus

“How about finding the most qualified candidate with good ideas first, THEN look at what color their tie or dress is. The absolutism of one party or another has got to stop.” — Dave Collins

“Anyone who would justify a vote for Bob Statchen as a voice of protest against President Trump are obviously also enraptured with Tolls, higher taxes, and reduction of State education funds to small towns to increase that in the cities. Thumbing one’s nose at DC while Hartford picks at your pocket .... wow!” — Jim Spellman
