Albany, N.Y. — Dana Walters, 64, passed away unexpected­ly at Albany Medical Center on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Dana grew up in Waterford and graduated from Waterford High School in 1972. He matriculat­ed at Northeaste­rn University earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineerin­g. While at Northeaste­rn he met his wife, Mary English, whom he married on March 5, 1977. He continued at Northeaste­rn to earn a master’s of science in engineerin­g management.

Over the course of his career, Dana worked at Public Service Company of New Hampshire as a transmissi­on planning engineer; a project manager for R.W. Beck and Associates; numerous roles at National Grid, where he worked for 18 years; and at New York Independen­t Systems Operator, Incorporat­ed, as a senior principal planner of system and resource planning.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Walters; his children, Aaron and wife, Jessica Walters, Carrie and wife, Kimberly Walters, Ryan and wife, Melinda Walters and Brittany Walters; his parents, Derek and Beverly Walters; his sisters, Denise Amburn and Cathleen Walters; his brothers, Brian and Kim Walters, their respective spouses; many nieces and nephews; and three grandchild­ren. He loved, and was loved, very much.

Calling hours in New York will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the Wm J. Rockefelle­r Funeral Home, Rensselaer, N.Y.
