East Lyme — Lawrence “Larry” C. Martin of Niantic, beloved husband of Elizabeth C. Martin, died peacefully on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at his residence.

Larry was born at 16 Woodland Ave., Enfield, on Nov. 25, 1934, the son of Charles “Chic” and Lillian “Lil” Hoffman Martin.

He attended Brainard Grammar School, Enfield High School, Hartford Regional Technical School and Hillyer College/University of Hartford. Larry served in the United States Army Signal Corps and spent 46 years at Kaman Aerospace Corp., starting in 1952 and retiring in 1998. His main passions in life was his family, building/remodeling and fixing anything and everything.

Besides his wife, Betty, he is survived by his daughter, Alicia Lockwood of Niantic; two sons, Tom Martin and his wife, Carolyn, of Wales, Mass., and Tim Martin and his wife, Sherry, of Dayville; one granddaugh­ter, Kaitlyn, one grandson, Joe, and a great-grandson Joey; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by a sister, Geraldine Macsata, and a brother Francis Martin.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday Feb. 2, 2019, at St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Ave., Niantic. Interment with military honors will follow in East Lyme Cemetery, East Lyme. There are no calling hours.
