The New London Police Union Executive Board backs City Councilor Anthony Nolan for 39th District state representa­tive.

New London — The New London Police Union AFSCME Local 724 Executive Board voted unanimousl­y recently to endorse New London City Councilor Anthony Nolan as the next state representa­tive from the 39th District. Nolan has been a union member and police officer in good standing for the past 18 years.

“Anthony Nolan brings a wealth of firsthand experience being a working police officer, a union member in good standing and politician that will allow him a unique understand­ing on many issues important to our members and New London residents” said union president Todd Lynch in a statement. “In these challengin­g times we believe he is the right person at the right time to do the right thing for all New Londoners and look forward to his election night victory on February 26, 2019."

The Police Union executive board is comprised of nine elected members representi­ng more than 70 New London Police officers, all ranks from patrol officer to captain.

Nolan is running against petitionin­g candidate Jason Catala, Green Party member Mirna Martinez and Republican Kat Goulart in the Feb. 26 special election.
