• UConn swept the American Athletic Conference weekly honors for women’s basketball, with senior Napheesa Collier receiving player of the week and Christyn Williams being named rookie of the week. In two wins last week, Collier averaged 24.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while Williams averaged 15.5 points. It is Collier’s eighth player of the week honor in her career. • Former Stonington standout Kate Hall set a Southern New Hampshire University school record in the 60-meter dash during a qualifying race last weekend at the Northeast 10 Conference indoor track and field championsh­ip, crossing the line in 8.0 seconds. She placed sixth in the 200 in 26.05. • Junior Megan Brawner, an all-state runner out of Ledyard High School, had two top three finishers last weekend while competing for Central Connecticu­t State University in the Northeast Conference indoor track and field championsh­ip. She earned second in the mile in 5:03.97 and took third in the 800 meters in 2:15.69. She also competed on the fourth-place distance medley relay team. • Four local students-athletes are on the roster for the Southern Connecticu­t State University women’s lacrosse team this spring. Facchini and sophomore Hailey Gordon all played at East Lyme High School while freshman Kaylee Swansen attended Waterford. Gordon appeared in 12 games for the Owls last season, starting 10, and finished with 12 goals and three assists. Also at SCSU, Zora LaBonte, a freshman from Waterford, ran a leg on the 4x400 relay team that placed second at the Northeast 10 indoor track and field championsh­ip last weekend. The quartet posted a time of 4:01.79.
