The Day

ONLINE FEEDBACK

-

When Day columnist Lee Elci wrote in his Thursday column, “So what’s the problem? You can’t handle ideas you don’t like?” about the threats of a handful of readers to cancel their subscriptions because of his conservative commentary, theday.com readers weighed in.

“I would bet there are many of us who get The Day in spite of their liberal leanings and the really ridiculous articles by David Collins. Canceling because of one conservative column just shows the lunacy that exists in today’s radical left wing.” — Barbara Billingham

“I listen to NPR on the way to and from work every day. At home I’ll watch Fox news. Typically, for every hour I spend listening to left-leaning news I spend an hour listening to right-leaning news. I find it very interesting to listen to how a similar topic is presented differently by both sides. I also find it to be very interesting what each side chooses to broadcast and what they omit. Y’all should try it.” — Robert Warner

“Some of us will stick with The Day despite Mr. Elci and his befuddled musings.” — Peter Roberts

“Oh please. Lee, you are certainly inflating your importance. People aren’t going to cancel because of your rhetoric. They just won’t read it. ‘Libs’ just aren’t that stupid. Really.” — J.L. Paradis

“I have to agree with JL Paradis. I already know what it is you spew, so there is no reason for me to read most of your columns. It’s not to say I ignore them completely, but keep myself of a slim diet of your columns and I can’t remember the last time I tuned into your (radio) program. I certainly would never cancel a subscription to a newspaper for what you may have said.” — Bruce Peters

“LOL, here’s a line worth repeating ‘You can’t handle the truth.’ Now what movie did that come from? You liberal cowards, you really need to take off the blinders, put the bias away and listen to Lee’s morning show.” — John Turner
