MIRACLES ARE FUN
Having so many "start of summer" activities to choose from is a good thing. Miracle at McCook's Kick-Off to Summer Party is a great thing. The goal is a tripartite effort by the Miracle League of Southeastern Connecticut (MLSECT), the East Lyme Parks & Recreation Department and kid's music stars Steve Elci & Friends to raise funds for a new atheltic fields complex.
The party takes place from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at McCook Point Park in Niantic. The popular Elci & Friends entertain from 4-5 in the part bandshell, followed by the Middle School Youth Performers. In addition, throughout the day, there will be plenty of activities for the whole family. Three Belles Outfitters offer kayaking and paddle board demonstrations; there's an obstacle course and inflatable slides; lawn games and a children's cornhole tournament; food and refreshment; and 106.5 will broadcast throughout the event.
The athletic field, still in fundraising stages, will be located behind Flanders Elementary. A five-dollar donation is requested to attend the Kick-Off Party, with a $20 family cap. McCook Point Beach is located on Columbus Ave. For more information call (860) 7395828.
