Enter the (Sun) chamber
Can you name all nine original members of the Wu-Tang Clan? Did you own any of their albums beyond “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” and “Wu-Tang Forever” or any of the first 207 solo albums?
Then you are indeed a fan! And that’s cool because the Wu-Men may not be the force they once were, but they’re still formidable. There’s a new fourpart documentary series on W-TC rolling on Showtime, “Of Mics and Men,” and it serves to remind us of the significant and widespread greatness and influence of the act. As Ghostface Killah said, reflecting on what Wu-Tang saw when they’d look out from the stage, scarcely daring to believe how big they’d become, “The black, red, yellow, brown and white — they all rockin’ with us!”
It’s not too late to rock with them, either. Wu-Tang Clan has reunited again and hits the Mohegan Sun Arena Friday. Think of it as irresistible history with that big beat.
Wu-Tang Clan, 8 p.m. Friday, Mohegan Sun Arena, $49.50-$69.50; 1-800-745-3000.
