‘Comedy’ in Westerly and New London MUSIC
Flock Theatre is expanding its reach.
As Flock fans well know, this theater group has been presenting wonderful Shakespeare in the Arboretum productions in New London for the past 25 years. It has added other venues periodically. This summer, they are spreading their wings again, this time to Wilcox Park in Westerly.
Flock will stage “The Comedy of Errors” at Wilcox, from Thursday through July 7, and then bring it back to the Connecticut College Arboretum in New London for a run from Aug. 15 to 25.
The production is directed by Victor Chiburis and features a cast that includes Aimee Blanchette, Danielle McGuire, Malcolm Cameron, Michael Hinton, Eric Michaelian, Brandon Tyler, Avery Moody, Brian Olsen, Fergus Milton, Gus Kellog, Patrick Goodnow, Suzanne McCormack, Bill Steinmayer, Sharon Marr, Mark Sullivan and Phi KasemBeg.
“Comedy of Errors” is the first Shakespeare play Flock did, so it’s a logical and welcome anniversary production.
And another Flock “Comedy of Errors” performance to note: Aug. 10 at Mystic Seaport Museum.
In addition to “Comedy,” Flock will take on Sophocles’ “Oedipus Rex,” with performances July 11-21 in Wilcox Park and July 25Aug. 4 in the Arboretum.
