Pagan, Puerto Rico advance to Pan Am semis

-

Lima, Peru — India Pagan finished with two points and two rebounds for the Puerto Rican national women's basketball team in a 72-63 victory over Canada on Thursday in the Group A preliminary round at the Pan-Am Games.

Pagan, a former New London High School all-state player and The Day's 2017 All-Area Girls' Basketball Player of the Year, is entering her junior year at Stony Brook University.

Puerto Rico was scheduled to face the United States in the semifinals late Friday night. The winner of that game will play for the gold medal on Saturday and the loser will play in the bronze-medal game.
