NEW LONDON POLICE SEEK ROBBER OF CONVENIENCE STORE
New London — Police say a man walked into a Bank Street convenience store Saturday night and stole cash from the register before fleeing.
Police said that at approximately 8:24 p.m. they responded to the Mi Gente Market at 189 Bank St. for a reported robbery. Police said the man who stole the money had fled before they arrived. Police said no weapons were involved.
Police described the suspect as heavy-set Hispanic man with a beard, about 45 years old and wearing a distinctive gray/ black hoodie which appears to have the multicolored letters “amp” on the back.
Police said the man walked into the store and demanded money from the clerk. Surveillance video shows him reaching into the cash register and taking money. He then fled on foot.
