Fulkerson’s superior reporting is appreciated

Concerning The Day’s sports coverage of girls cross country accomplishments, we would like to thank Day sports writer Vickie Fulkerson for her excellent coverage of local athletes. She reported their achievements in an insightful manner that allowed us a glimpse into their unique personalities.

It was truly heartwarming to read each story and learn what inspired these gifted athletes to reach such lofty goals. We learned that it’s a credit to

their families, coaches and the great teachers in the East Lyme school system. This proves that it takes a whole village to raise a child. We are grateful that our granddaughter Madison (avenue) Sjostrom is a part of such a nurturing community.
