Placing obituaries:

As a service to readers, The Day will publish a short, free obituary in advance of a paid obituary that may include more detail if desired. The minimum charge for a paid obituary is $100.

Paid obituaries appear online at www.theday.com with a guest book where readers may leave condolences.

Obituaries are accepted from recognized funeral homes (or from families with verification of death). Email announcements to obits@theday.com, fax to (860) 442-5443 or call (860) 701-4349 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Photos must be received by 3 p.m. the day before publication.

The Day reserves the right to edit obituaries for spelling, grammar and accuracy. Any information deemed inappropriate will not be published.
