HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Member of the senior management team
• Provide HR leadership to employees of The Day & Shore Publishing
• Hands- on role with one additional HR employee
• Align human capital with company goals to optimize organizational effectiveness
• Instrumental in leading talent development including acquiring, developing and retaining talent
• Develop and administer human resources policies, programs and services
• Ensure that company policies, personnel and equal opportunity practices comply with the applicable provisions of federal and state laws
• Foster an environment of trust and integrity that align with the mission and goals of the company
• Implement training and other programs that recognize and reward employees
• Administer employee and retiree benefit plans including health insurance, 401k and pension
• Assist with the annual 401K and pension audits
• Oversee payroll function support and attend monthly Board of Trustees’ meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in Human Resources or related business field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Human Resources with at least 2 years’ supervisory experience
• Exceptional interpersonal, communications and relationship building skills
• Comprehensive understanding of local, state and federal employment law
• Demonstrated experience with benefits administration and employee relations
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software; proficient with Excel
