East Lyme — Bob passed away Jan. 15, 2021, at home among loving members of his family. He was born June 13, 1932, to Mary (Baron) and Alphonse Dubreuil in Waterford.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a partner in A. Dubreuil and Sons, a local general contractor, for many years. Bob’s proud work is visible in many area buildings: the Niantic Cinema, Coast Guard Academy, Ledge Light House, Plum Island and many others.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Swanson), with whom he shared 63 years of marriage; son Robert Dubreuil Jr. of Florida; daughter Terese (Stephen) Carboni of Niantic; son Peter (Polly) Dubreuil of Niantic; granddaugh­ters, Sydney (Peter) Eshenfelde­r; and expected great-grandson, and Samantha, Sage, Sophie and Summer Dubreuil all of Niantic; granddaugh­ter Laurel (Tim) Vivirito of Downers Grove, Ill.; grandson Aaron Dubreuil of Florida; step-grandchild­ren, Nicholas, Christophe­r and Katherine Carboni; and brother Eugene Dubreuil of Waterford. He was predecease­d by his brother Alphonse Dubreuil; and sister Elaine Hill.

Bob always displayed a bright smile and sunny dispositio­n. He possessed a love of family, friends and the outdoors, especially fishing, gardening and wildlife. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

The family expresses appreciati­on for the special care he received from the staff of Hospice, the VNA and VA. Though there will be no viewing or service at this time, a memorial Mass and Celebratio­n of Life will be planned once it is safe to assemble. Bob would be honored if any donation in his name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
