Passion, empathy make Bumgardner best
As a fellow town councilor and Groton District 3 Democrat, I write in support of Aundré Bumgardner for city mayor. I believe that the best leaders come from a grassroots level. What matters most to me is passion, empathy, and vision for change. In the time that I have known him, and had the pleasure of working with him, Aundré has demonstrated these qualities.
While I hope Aundré is successful in his campaign, and I encourage all registered Groton City Democrats to support him, I also hope that this primary does not create a deep or bitter divide within the party or community. It is healthy for there to be a contest of ideas, discussion of policy differences, and consideration of qualities in an election. Ultimately, the voters will decide. It is of utmost importance that there is a choice to be had.
Aundré offers progressive, prudent leadership and a challenge to status-quo politics. As one who was drawn to public service by a desire to resolve inequities and give voice for those often overlooked or unheard, I have found Aundré to be a strong ally in these matters.
Vote Monday in the Groton City primary.
