Quaker Hill — Marlene F. Sloan, 81, passed away peacefully at home with her loved ones including her childhood best friend Leonard Buffington April 6, 2021.

She was born Sept. 5, 1939, in New London, to Domenic Quido Cirioni and Ethel Beatrice Livermore. She was married to Donald Sloan for 17 years.

Marlene was a police officer for the City of New London for many years, she was an auxiliary with the State Police, and head of security at Mashantuck­et Pequot. She was a part of numerous undercover investigat­ions and spent most of her life protecting and serving her community. She loved teaching dance, decorating, and having a strong cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Marlene is preceded in death by both her parents; her brother Domenic Cirioni Jr.; her daughter Cheryl Terranova; and her stepson Johnny Welde III. She is survived by her husband, Donald Sloan; her sister, Pam Puckett; her brother Frank Cirioni; her three daughters, Debra Holmes (Ronnie), Dawn Alciati and Cindy Ciavaglia (Roger). She is also survived by several grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

Granting Marlene’s wishes, there will be no services. However, she wanted those she loved to have a cup of coffee in remembranc­e for her.
