Reporting needed on Thames River impact
I have read with interest regarding the endless troubling controversies swirling around the Ørsted wind project.
The Day has reported that wind and New London might be a small part of the energy solution to avert the global climate disaster, so fast approaching. This would be amazing (although it is alarming that the Block Island wind farm is not fully running).
And maybe with this new industry, New London could reach even a hundredth part of the city’s potential. I wonder, will Thames River be protected in paving 7 acres of the river for the new pier? The Thames is a treasure and loved, and the river is so essential to our city. I wish that The Day would provide its readers with more information on the Thames River’s ecology, and how to protect it and what impact the new pier will have for it.
