Bacon girls edge Waterford on Gustavsen’s late goal

Colchester — Skylar Gustavsen scored the game-winning goal with 10 seconds left as Bacon Academy slipped past Waterford 9-8 in a girls' lacrosse game on Thursday.

Gustavsen, a senior, also set Bacon's career scoring record with 194 points Maddox Burton had three goals for the Bobcats (9-5).

Emily Gates had four goals for Waterford (9-4).

In other games:

• Kaci Pierce scored four goals as East Lyme routed Woodstock Academy 17-0.

Greta Schwartz added three goals and three assists for the Vikings (9-4) while Dani Bruno scored four goals, Sydney Sager had two goals and one assist and Alanna Benoit scored twice.

• Molly Page scored five goals as Norwich Free Academy defeated Ledyard 9-4. Alice Rourke had two goals for NFA (7-7). Jess English and Molly McLeod had two goals apiece for Ledyard (5-8).

• Bridget O'Leary had two goals and four assists as Fitch defeated Montville 15-4. Rita Sefransky had two goals and two assists and Sophia Clang had three goals for Fitch (8-5). Maddie Koning scored two goals for Montville (6-7).

• Sarah Cole and Ally Iacobellis scored six goals each and Lucy Fader scored five goals as Williams School beat Watkinson 19-6 in a Housatonic Valley Athletic League game on Wednesday. Phoebe Taylor made 10 saves, Scarlet Kane had a goal and an assist, Maria Morant scored a goal, Fader had six assists and Cole had an assist for the Blues (9-5, 8-2).

Boys

• Sam Blumberger had five goals and three assists as Bacon Academy defeated Montville 14-3 in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division II game. Ethan Lovetere had four goals and two assists for Bacon (8-4, 6-0). Chris Baukus had two goals for Montville (1-11, 0-6).

• Cam Eleteny scored six goals as Stonington defeated St. Bernard/ Wheeler 17-10 in ECC Div. II. Ben Massengale had four goals for the Bears (8-5, 6-1). Cam Riley had five goals, Cam Gouveia had three goals and Jake Brenek two assists for St. Bernard/Wheeler (4-8, 3-4).

• Williams School lost to Worcester Academy 10-4 on Wednesday. Sterling Frost had two goals and six groundball­s, Robbie Darling had a goal and an assist, Colby Potts made 22 saves and Brendan Li had a goal for the Blues (8-4).
