Mashantucket — The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation announced Wednesday that KemperSports has been selected to manage its Lake of Isles golf club and resort in North Stonington.

The company manages more than 140 golf courses, private clubs, sports venues and destination resorts nationwide including acclaimed courses such as Chambers Bay in Washington, which hosted the 2015 U.S. Open, and Bandon Dunes in Oregon.

KemperSports’ focus at Lake of Isles will be to leverage its experience in working with other tribal nations across the country and managing some of America’s premier golf destinations to elevate Lake of Isles’ national reputation as a first-class golf club and resort, a news release issued Wednesday stated.

“Lake of Isles holds a cherished place in the hearts of our community, so we are overjoyed to embark on this new partnership with KemperSports to reinvigorate the property,” tribal Chairman Rodney Butler said in the news release. “We’re looking forward to seeing their demonstration of excellence and unwavering dedication as they work to present it as the preeminent golfing experience for our entire community,”

Opened in 2005, Lake of Isles is a 36-hole Rees Jones-designed golf club owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and located adjacent to Foxwoods Resort Casino. The North Course, a public resort course open to daily-fee golfers and Foxwood Resort Casino guests, and the South Course, a private member course, are part of the 900 acres of wooded countryside around a 90-acre lake.

“With two of the state’s most highly rated courses, Lake of Isles is a wonderful property for its members as well as visitors to the resort and local area,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner in the news release. “We look forward to working with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to take the member and guest service experience to new heights.”
