New London — Carol (Marks) Corbeil, 80, of New London passed away March 12, 2023, after a sudden illness surrounded by family and friends.

Carol was a lifelong communican­t of St. Joseph’s Church and proud to have been a graduate of Saint Bernard High School.

She served her community in several ways over the years. Carol worked at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for 25 years. Carol was a beloved Eucharisti­c Minister at St. Joseph’s, past president of the Confratern­ity of Christian Women, as well as troop leader of the Girl Scouts and usher at the Garde Arts Center.

She always had a welcoming smile, glowing with her red lipstick.

Carol was predecease­d by her parents, Lucy (Santora) Marks and Rosario (Yarky) Marks; her husband, Arthur Corbeil II; and her son, James Corbeil.

She is survived by her sister, Jean Marks; her children, Dorene Gramolini (Gary), Jenene Gramolini (Robert) and Mark Corbeil (Francine); her grandchild­ren, Emily Brunelle (Justin) and Christina Corbeil (Paul); as well as many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed the company and companions­hip of her friends and the many adventures life brought her. She will be deeply missed by many, especially her cat, Lady Jane.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London.

The Funeral Mass will commence at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, corner of Squire Street and Montauk Avenue, New London. The committal service will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Jefferson Avenue, New London.
