Anne E. Georgetti

-

Mystic — Anne Elizabeth Georgetti, 54, of Vernon and Mystic, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, surrounded by family at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a long period of declining health. She was born Jan. 13, 1969, in New London, the youngest child of Richard A. Georgetti Sr. and the late Joyce Ann Camillucci Georgetti, and had lived in Vernon for the past 36 years.

Anne entered this world with the odds stacked against her survival, but God forged other plans for this precious child. She was born without the ability to hear, but taught her family the nuances of the unspoken language of love, and her partial blindness helped those around her recognize that goodness and kindness are also “seen” through eyes of faith.

Anne always enjoyed a good party, especially if pizza and cake were being served! In her younger days, she loved swimming, running, bowling, watching football and basketball, and celebrating birthdays. She had a tenacious curiosity, and a persistence of spirit that carried her through many difficult physical challenges. And in the end, when it was time for her to surrender her spirit, she left us with one last unspoken gesture of love, her left hand resting at her side perfectly formed in the ASL sign of I-L-Y: I Love You.

In addition to her mother, Anne was also predeceased by her grandparents, Peter and Agnes Georgetti, and Bruno and Dorothy Camillucci; as well as her Godparents, Bernard and Geraldine Lamy. Anne is survived by her father, Richard Sr.; one sister Mary S. Georgetti and companion Steve Valach; and three brothers, Richard A. Georgetti Jr. and wife Tracie, Paul J. Georgetti Sr. and fiancée Lisa Vilano, and Peter B. Georgetti and wife Kristin, all of Mystic; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout the area. Anne is also survived by her second family, her best friends and housemates in Vernon: Donna, Jeannette, Pauline, Robin, and Dianne.

The entire Georgetti family offers our sincere thanks to the medical staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care over the past few weeks, and most especially to the dedicated staff in Vernon for creating and sustaining an environment where Anne flourished with joy and with dignity.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at St. Patrick Church, 32 E. Main St., Mystic, with interment to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, River Road, Mystic. There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations can be made to Oak Hill School, 120 Holcomb St., Hartford, CT 06112.
