Edward McCabe

Clinton — Edward Owen McCabe, 76, husband of Julianne Moneagle McCabe of Clinton, formerly of Stonington; Bath, Ohio; and New Canaan, passed away due to complications during cardiac surgery Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Born on March 30, 1947, in New York City, he was the son of the late Ethel Corrigan and Edward J. McCabe Jr.; and the brother of Kathe Bisconti of Scarsdale, N.Y.

Edward graduated from Cornell University in 1969, and attained an MBA in marketing from the University of Connecticut. Throughout his career, he worked for numerous companies, including serving as the president and CEO of NUMA Corporation (Ohio), president of Mystic Color Lab and in several roles for the American Family Life Assurance Company (AFLAC).

Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Julianne; children: Rachel M. Goodman and her husband Ernie of Clinton, Edward J. McCabe III and his wife Anna of Norwalk, Michael O. McCabe and his wife Laura of Hampton, and Benjamin M. McCabe and his wife Leigh of Overland Park, Kan. Edward and Julianne are also blessed with 10 grandchildren: Edward, Jack, Ellen, Julianne, John, Georgia, Maria, Bridget, Alice and Mildred.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry St., New Canaan. Friends may pay their condolences to the family in the church from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Edward’s memory made to the American Heart Association or the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation.
