GROTON LIBRARY’S CHILDREN’S, TEEN EVENTS

Children’s events in August at Groton Public Library include a Water Tower STEM Challenge and Children’s Grab & Go Craft.

The STEM challenge will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, for children ages 5 and older. All supplies are provided. The craft event runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, so just pick up a bag of supplies and go at it.

Other events include Learn & Play Playgroup at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2; Sing & Stomp at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, and the Summer Reading Finale from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 11, with ice cream, crafts and balloons for all ages.

Teen events include Aquatic Arts & Crafts at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 and Aug. 10; Magic the Gathering Club at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8 and Aug. 22, and Club 306, a social group for teens and tweens that celebrates and supports the LGBTQ+ community at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 and Aug. 23.

Also on tap are Reader's Cafe with Ms. Johnson at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28 (discussing “Three Things I Know Are True” by Betty Culley to complete the Read with Friends portion of Fitch

High School's summer reading assignment); Techy Teens & Savvy Seniors from 11 a.m. to 1 p..m. Monday, Aug. 7 (teen volunteers at the Thrive55+ Active Living Center to offer tech help for computers, phones or tablets), and Summer Reading Support at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3.
