Biddeford, Maine — Raymond W. Clinton, 65, of Biddeford, Maine, passed away Aug.

22, 2023, after a long illness. Raymond was born in New London and graduated from Robert E. Fitch Senior High School in Groton. He retired from the City of Worcester, Mass., after a long career as a water treatment plant operator.

He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Nancy Lewis; his mother Alma (Patterson) Clinton; sister Jennifer Edwards and her husband Gary; brother Michael Clinton and his wife Laurie; nieces, Jessica Clinton, Melissa Clinton and Lauren Lysak; nephews, Ryan Lysak and Loren Edwards. He is predecease­d by his father William W. Clinton.

Ray was a kind, gentle individual with a keen wit and a great love for his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Although he was “owned” by many cats over the years, the most current one is a black and white tuxedo cat named Ivy. Raymond was an avid music fan and musician. He played saxophone, piano and pipe organ. He owned hundreds of vinyl records and played them often. Raymond was a Past Worshipful Master of Rufus Putnam Lodge and Past Royal Patron of The Order of the Amaranth, both of Rutland, Mass.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday,

Oct. 21, 2023, at Elm Street Congregati­onal Church, 61 Elm St., Southbridg­e, Mass. A luncheon will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Sturbridge Host Hotel and Conference Center, 366 Main St., Sturbridge, Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local animal shelter in Raymond’s memory.
