Angel L. Diggs

-

Hamden — Angel Lou Diggs, a true angel on earth, graced this world on Sept. 11, 1951, in Clearwater, Fla. As the eldest daughter of Vernon and Arthur Lee Dozier, her journey unfolded with purpose and love. From her early days at New London High School to her graduation from Southern Connecticut State College in 1973 with a degree in library science, Angel’s passion for knowledge and community was evident. She met the love of her life, Barry James Diggs, and their 54-year union bore witness to the creation of a beautiful family.

Angel embarked on a fulfilling career as an archival librarian at the New Haven Register, dedicating over 40 years of preserving, processing, appraising, and categorizing important documents and records before retiring in 2022. Devoted to her faith, Angel was an integral part of Bible Gospel Center (BGC), where she not only attended services faithfully, but also served as the Head of BGC’s Nursery Department, nurturing the spiritual growth of the youngest members.
