New London — Rosalie Longo Frankewicz passed away peacefully March 23, 2024. She was born to the late Frank and Mary (Gaetano) Longo in New London, July 16, 1938.

She attended St. Mary’s School in New London, and graduated from New London High School in 1956. Rosalie was married to Walter Frankewicz Sr. on June 30, 1956.

Walter predeceased her Dec. 21, 2019. They started a family soon after they married. Her first job was being a mother, which she loved and when you thought she didn’t have any more love to give, she became Granny to 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with the 15th due in May, all of which were as precious to her as the next. The role as “Granny” was by far her most cherished role. She worked in the retail world, working at the former Bradlees, Two Guys and then more than 35 years at Mallove’s Jewelers, which she always said was her extended family, retiring in 2017.

She is survived by her children: Walter Frankewicz Jr., Denver Colo.; Jean (Steven) Logan, Quaker Hill; Peggy (John) Boucher, Westerly R.I., and George (Teresa) Frankewicz, Waterford; sister-in-law and best friend Joan Palladino, Salem; sister Bridget Slocum,

Florida; sister-in-law Jeanne Longo; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sister Mary Gilliland; brother Vincent Longo; in-laws: Dave and Tina Davies, Robert Palladino, Edward Frankewicz and Lawrence Frankewicz.

The family would like to thank Masonicare Mystic for their devoted care: Donna and Shaina Debbis, Chris and Connie Harbaugh for their friendship, love and support of Rosalie “Rosie” for many years, and Lawrence + Memorial Hospital Cardiology for making her comfortable in her final days.

Her family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London.
