Fun & Games? Beatrice Cuming: Connecticut Precisionist — Lyman Allyn Art Museum, 625 Williams St., New London; Cuming (American 1903-1974) was an important and under-recognized Connecticut woman artist working in an era of tremendous change; she worked in New London for much of her career and celebrated modernity in her dynamic depictions of urban life in the 1930s-’50s; runs through May 26; also, “Art in Play” features the work of Pop Artist Leo Jensen (1926–2019); a companion exhibition to show at the Florence Griswold Museum; runs through April 14; “Norma Morgan in Context” focuses on Morgan (1928–2017), a visionary African American artist from New Haven who approached landscape with a sense of awe and a reverence towards nature; runs through April 7; artworks by students from area schools on view in the museum’s Lehman Auditorium; Winthrop and C.B.
