Jake Campbell leads East Lyme past Fitch

Brigham’s OT goal lifts Waterford girls to win over Ledyard

— Jake Campbell scored four goals to lead East Lyme past Fitch, 13-12, on Tuesday in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division I boys' lacrosse game.

Tate Gordon scored for Fitch with 3:40 to go in the fourth quarter to get the Falcons within one, but East Lyme (2-0, 2-0) held possession the rest of the game to secure the win. Juan Morales and Gabe Hanney added three goals apiece for the Vikings, while Roman Rich and Boden Frost each scored four for the Falcons (1-1, 0-1).

In other games:

• Mason Bussman scored seven goals and had an assist as Old Lyme beat Morgan 148. Macklin Cushman scored twice and Alex Krol had a goal and an assist for the wildcats.

• Logan Jenkins had five goals and Conor Gaughan scored four as NFA beat Montville 15-1. Conor Dempsey had three goals and Tristan Laney had four assists for NFA and Jake Watson scored for Montville.

H.S. girls’ lacrosse

• Quinn Brigham's unassisted goal with 53 seconds left in overtime lifted Waterford to a 9-8 win over Ledyard in an ECC Division II game. Brigham had four goals, Adyson Wiseman scored three and Victoria Sturm had two goals and two assists for Waterford. Maddie McLeod had three goals, Helena Robinson had two goals and two assists, Mackenzie Boyer scored twice and Tatianna Irizarry had a goal and two assists for Ledyard.

• Fitch's Gabby Dimock scored four goals, but the Falcons lost to St. Joseph 5-4 in overtime. Dimock scored twice in the final minute to send the game to overtime. Elaina Brookhart had eight saves for Fitch.

• Stonington beat Montville 13-7 in an ECC Diviison II game. Kylie Spreng had seven goals and two assists for Montville.

• Sienna Caron scored goals and Kaylin Stockwell had four goals and two assists as Griswold/Norwich Tech beat Woodstock 13-6. Neiara Myrick had two goals and to assists and Alexis Emanuele made six saves for the Wolverines.

H.S. baseball

•Ryley Beyer pitched a one-hitter and scored three runs as Montville beat

Tourtellot­te 15-0 in five innings. Beyer struck out 12 and walked two. Cam Payne and Cole Chiasson drove in three runs each and Aidan Johnson, Jeremy Parkos and Payne had two hits each for the Wolves.

• Grasso Tech opened its season with a 10-2 loss to Manchester on Monday. Raymer Guzman drove in the run and Yancarlos Nieves scored for the Eagles.

H.S. volleyball

• Norwich Tech opened its season with a 3-1 win over Rockville in a CVL match. Bradley Martell had nine kills, eight digs and four aces, Mason Matthews had 10 digs, five aces and five kills and Angel Garcia had nine assists and four digs for the Warriors, who won 25-21, 14-25, 25-19, 25-19.

UConn football

UConn head football coach Jim Mora has announced the addition of Brad Robbins to his coaching staff. Robbins will join the Huskies as the team's new quarterbac­ks coach and passing game coordinato­r.

Robbins joins the Huskies after spending the 2023 season as a member of the Tennessee Tech staff as the pass game coordinato­r and wide receivers coach.
