Patricia McNiff
— Patricia Ann “Pat” McNiff died peacefully April 5, 2024, at Masonicare in Mystic. Pat was born Feb. 26, 1961, daughter of George McNiff and the late Jeannine McNiff; sister of Michael McNiff (Jennifer); and loving aunt of Anna and James McNiff. Pat is also survived by a wonderful cadre of cousins, extended family and caring friends.
After graduating from Manchester High School in 1979, and Eastern Connecticut State University in 1983, Pat worked as a biologist at Pfizer in Groton and later as a rehab tech at L&M Pequot Health Center. Pat was a giving person, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of America and at her church. Pat was interested in genealogy and used Ancestry. com to connect with distant and sometimes unknown family relatives; she especially enjoyed regaling her niece Anna and nephew James with old family stories.
After retiring two years ago, Pat connected with childhood friends from Waddell Elementary School, remodeled her home, and enjoyed golfing, walking Bluff Point and birding. Pat also liked to travel, including recent adventures with her good friend Sue Sullivan.
Pat was living her best life in retirement, but unfortunately pancreatic cancer cut this short. During the past year, Pat greatly appreciated newfound friends in the Masonicare community. Pat’s family is deeply indebted to the kind and loving care she received at Masonicare at Mystic and HHC hospice.

Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 in Mystic (51 Williams Ave.), after which family and friends are invited to a luncheon reception from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Masonicare Mystic, 45 Clara Drive, in Mystic. A Funeral Mass will follow the reception at 1 p.m. April 27, at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 69 Long Point Road, Groton. Arrangements are being handled by the Mystic Funeral Home.
