Mystic — David Alan Noyes, of Mystic, beloved husband, Dad, and Pop, passed away unexpectedly April 20, 2024. He was a kind-hearted, hard-working man with a fun-loving nature who touched the lives of all who knew him.

Born Dec. 21, 1952, David learned mechanics working for his dad. He began his career as a high-lineman for CL&P and then for the next 45 years had a diverse career in commercial construction, from project management to contract administration. His work ethic was admired by colleagues and friends alike. For 20 years, he also served his community as a volunteer firefighter. David grew up in Norwich, and summered at Latimer Point, Stonington with his family, where his love for the water began. It was there he met his wife Nancy, with whom he shared 50 years of love and cherished memories. In his free time, David enjoyed spending time at Latimer Point, boating, sailing, flying, boxing and playing cards and chess with his grandchildren. He loved watching their sports and never missed a game. He had a passion for airplanes and boats and loved to tinker. He had a knack for teasing, making people laugh, and his jokes and humor will be greatly missed.

David is survived by his wife Nancy; his children, Nicole Maxwell and her husband, Matt and DJ Noyes and his wife Emily; his grandchildren: Evan, James, Chloe and Oliver; and his brother Sandy Noyes. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

We invite family and friends to join us for a remembrance gathering from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Groton Open Space Association in his memory.

David will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering love for his family. He was truly a remarkable man and his memory will forever live on in our hearts.
