Montville boys beat NL

Montville — Benny Wu, Ryan Yang and Darren Chen captured their singles matches in straight sets, as Montville defeated New London, 6-1, in an Eastern Connecticu­t Conference Division III boys' match on Monday.

Jack Bowman and Ryan Hochdorfer earned a straight set win at No. 1 doubles for the Wolves, who improved to 10-4 overall, 5-0 in the division.

At No. 2 singles, Niko Churis outlasted Danny Zhong in three sets to give the Whalers (7-3, 2-2) their only win.

In other matches:

• Stonington blanked Woodstock, 7-0, with Tucker Callahan, Brady O'Neil and Matthew Turrisi won their singles matches without dropping a game. Peter Schoencker won at No. 4 singles for the Bears (14-0).

• Old Lyme improved to 9-3 with a 6-1 victory of Old Saybrook in the Shoreline Conference. Andy Sicuranza won at No. 1 singles and Micah Bass won at No. 2.

Girls

• St. Bernard remained undefeated in Division III with a 6-1 win over Windham/Windham Tech. Sasha Manzione, Blake Murray, Meri Kambolli and Zhuning Gao posted singles victories for the Saints (7-2, 4-0).

• Old Lyme rolled past Old Saybrook, 7-0, in the Shoreline Conference, as Elaina Morosky, Katherine Zhang, Emma Arelt and Rose Dimmock won their singles matches. The Wildcats are 13-1.

• Jayla Taylor and Nakayla Isaac scored wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respective­ly, in New London's 5-2 loss to Killingly. The Whalers are 2-8.

• The Williams School lost to Rocky Hill (R.I.) 5-2 in its regular season home finale. Emilia Leeming won at No. 3 singles and the No. 1 doubles duo of Sadie Rotolo and Will Corkhill also won for the Blues (4-3-1).
